Dr. Daniel Rodríguez Leal
I am Daniel Rodríguez, oral and maxillofacial surgeon. I trained as a specialist at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and my practice combines consultation, hospital work and postgraduate teaching.
I graduated as Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Costa Rica and completed my specialty in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UNAM in Mexico City, where I graduated with honors and served as chief resident. During my specialty I rotated through multiple services across different specialties at the most important and recognised institutes in Mexico.
I am a professor in the prosthodontics postgraduate programme at the University of Costa Rica, where future specialists discuss and plan their dental implant cases and I am responsible for placing the implants for their subsequent rehabilitation. I keep up to date through continuing education in the latest technology and techniques for implant placement, facial trauma and orthognathic surgery.
In the office I look for the same thing as in the operating room: that you understand what will be done, how long it takes and what recovery will be like, and that every procedure is carried out with the care and precision it demands.

What an appointment with me looks like.
Exam, imaging and explanation in the same visit: I examine, show you the X-ray or CBCT on screen and explain what will be done and why.

What a surgery day looks like.
Major surgery is performed in hospital, with an anesthesiologist and OR team. Office procedures use local anesthesia or conscious sedation. In both cases, the same standard of sterility and planning.
